The Election in the U.S. has been over for a week. George Bush has been legally elected this time around so there shouldn't be any squabbles. Somehow, the fact that the last time around wasn't such a clearcut victory, always led me to forgive any international indiscretions of the U.S. as being the lashing out of an occupied country. Now I've lost that rationalization. He has the support of the people, for better or for worse. I sincerely hope that things will not deteriorate south of the border. The fact that Bush is no longer facing a need for re-election scares me a bit though. With luck, he'll keep things tame so that his brother can get on the ballot in 2008. Ironic, using luck like that, eh?
Of course, he could just go back to the Supreme Court, have them overturn their 2000 Election ruling and then claim this as his first real term. That'd let Bush run in 2008 himself.
All this partisanship is leading to an immediate problem for Canada: the predicted influx of left-minded refugees. To help, Canadians are being summoned to action.
